Why use a mobile dog grooming service?

A mobile dog grooming service is designed to fit around our life, we can fit into your busy schedule and come to you. Your dog will have a one on one service, bespoke to their needs. Your dog is never left in a cage, it is a less stressful environment for your dog.

Also there is no issue if your bitch is in season, however do let us know so that we can organise your appointment accordingly.

Why should I have my Dog groomed?

By keeping up with your dogs grooming, you are safeguarding the health and happiness of your Dog. Falling behind can result in matted fur and skin irritation which can lead your pet to become stressed out.

When should my puppy come in for its first groom?

Once fully vaccinated your puppy can come in for his/her first session. This lasts about half an hour and during this time they will meet the groomer and experience the sights, sounds and smells of the mobile grooming studio ensuring that future visits are stress free.

Is mobile grooming better than grooming at a pet grooming salon?

With mobile grooming, you have the convince of dog grooming service coming to you saving your time, you don’t have to transport your pet anywhere, your car stays clean and your pet stays less stressed.

Allowing you to get on with your daily home schedule while your dog receives a one to one grooming service with a single groomer. By having the same groomer each time your dog will take comfort in the familiarity of the groomer and become more relaxed.

How long does it take to groom my pet?

The time taken will depend on the condition and type of your dog s fur/hair. We always allow 2 hours for a first appointment. Here at Woodys dog grooming we don’t rush your dog through, we aim for them to have an easy and relaxing groom in line with their welfare needs

How much does it cost for my pet to be groomed?

Prices are dependent on breed, coat length, the condition of the coat and skin, its temperament, age, and grooming history.  We will give a starting from price if we haven’t met you or your dog before, an exact cost will be discussed at your pre-groom consultation.

Do you use fresh, clean water for washing my dog?

Yes – Unlike other mobile services, we do not recycle water. Fresh, warm water will be used for all your dogs bathing needs.

Won’t frequent bathing dry out my dogs skin and coat?

We use very mild, hypoallergenic shampoos and conditioners that are safe to be used once a week.

Can I have my dog washed in my own shampoo?

We are always happy to use veterinarian prescribed shampoo if this is for medical reasons, however we use shampoos and conditioners that are designed for professional dog grooming, they are ETHICAL, CRUELTY FREE and SUSTAINABLE. Click Here for more information on our shampoos

Will my dog be in put in a crate?

No  – We are mobile groomers and only ever groom one dog at a time. From time to time, the owners dog Woody may be with us, and on these days Woody has a crate in the back of the van that he settles in. If your dog is nervous around other dogs please make us aware at the time of booking so we can ensure that on the days that your dog is booked in we don’t have Woody with us.

Do you use drying cages?

No – All dogs are dried and finished by hand using approved hand drying equipment.  Although this can increase the time to take to dry. We will not compromise as your dogs safety and comfort is of the most importance.

Can I stay and watch while you groom my dog?

Unfortunately not. As you know your dog loves you very much and they will want to get near to you, so could become distracted and it could cause your dog to be agitated throughout the grooming process.  which is not safe while we are grooming and could cause an accident.  It is best to let us take your dog into the van to let them familiarise themselves with the smells and sounds.

Do I need to bring anything with my dog for their groom?

We do ask that you make sure that your dog has had some time to relivee themselves before getting to the grooming van. They may want to have a meal beforehand, but please bear in mind that if your dog is nervous, they might do better with an empty stomach.  Feel free to provide special treats or toys that you know your dog loves. If you have an idea on what you want your dog to look like please feel free to bring a photo of the type of haircut you would like.

How often should my pet be groomed?

The frequency of getting your dog groomed has many factors, it is based on the type of breed and coat. Also this is based on the size of dog and lifestyle that your dog leads, but we recommend all dogs to be groomed every 4-6 weeks at the minimum.

How often does my dog need a nail trimming and do I need an appointment?

Your dogs nails should be trimmed monthly. Why not treat your pooch and book them in for a Pawdicure treatment or mini groom in-between grooms

My dog is old, can it be groomed?

Yes – However senior, disabled, and ill dogs required specialist treatment during the grooming process.  We have been trained on the individual considerations for special handling of these dogs requirements.  We are experienced in working with deaf, blind, arthritic dogs, dogs with dementia and those with diabetes.

If you have any doubts please contact your vet who will help you to decide whether there would be any adverse risk in grooming your older dog.

My dog can be aggressive. Will you still groom it?

We understand that some dogs may have had a bad experience of grooming and now do not want or enjoy being groomed.  This is one of the areas we specialise in, by giving your dog time and showing patience we are confident we can make the grooming experience enjoyable for all dogs.  For those that are particularly traumatised we recommend  our De-sensitisation and rehabilitation programmes for nervous dogs, click here for details.  For dogs who do not have to get over a previous bad experience but generally do not liked being groomed we will book these in under a standard treatment to determine their requirements.   It is very rare to find an ungroomable dog but if we come across any serious problems during a grooming process we will discuss them with you so we can agree on a solution together.

What if I am not happy with the service my dog receives?

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with the service received, please contact us within 2 business days so that we can do our best to rectify it.  Our Dogs owners satisfaction is of the upmost importance to us. We take great pride in our service and our reviews reflect this.

What type of payment do you accept?
